  • The basilica is roughly located in the center of the Ancient Roman settlement, near the forum. At the place where the present building stands there was a Visigoth church from the IV century which was ...  more »
  • What a lovely basilica tucked away in the Gothic quarter. Lovely aerial view from the bell tower for only 2 euros, that is a steal. The best 2 euros you'll spend!  more »
  • Great little church tucked away, wouldn't find it if you didn't know it was there! In a beautiful little plaza too. Highly recommend to climb the bell tower for the best view in Barcelona!  more »

  • Stunning views from the bell tower! Charming church, best 2 euros you'll spend. An absolute must when in Barcelona
  • The Basilica of the Martyr Saints Justus and Pastor may be the oldest church in Barcelona. The current Gothic structure was built around 1342, but it’s believed that a Christian church has sat on this site since 300 CE, and that even before that it was a place of pagan worship. http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/basilica-of-saints-justus-and-pastor
  • Nestled in the small Placeta de Sant Just, the Basillica, dedicated to two school boys killed during the Diocletian Persecution, is the second church built on this site. The original from the 9th Century was replaced by the current Gothic style building in 1342. Make sure you pop to see the Black Virgin and spend the 2€ to climb the bell tower, the views are fabulous.
  • it's a beautiful view!!! of roof top.
  • One of the best things I've done in Barcelona. Don't miss the climb to the top of the bell tower for 2€. The experience and the view was incredible.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
