The park surrounding the zoo is pretty... But the zoo lacks medium, the show offered to children is sad both animals lack of space and facilities are basic. The enclosure of the lion, the Tiger and the rhinoceros are particularly small, ugly, and sad. Animals are sentences to these conditions. It makes want to see disappear in such places. For small the only time where he can touch an animal c is in the enclosure of the little goats, they are adorable (6 goats that roam) but after 5 min, nothing more... There is a pony activity, but it was closed... Otherwise positive point the electric car ride when you have children is very nice, and allows you to visit the zoo without ending up in the lap :-) And it amuses children :-)

  • Conservation focused zoo with good educational information for each exhibit. Excellent bird and primate collections. Concession stands don't open until the afternoon so I suggest bringing your lunch! Also keep in mind that you can't exit and re enter the zoo, so plan accordingly.
  • Not a big fan of zoos.. However this zoo is one of the biggest I've ever seen. Most of the animals have a lot of room and are not in cages. Some of them walk freely.. It feels like safer safari experience
  • We went not expecting much but it was wonderful. There were lots of animals and not that many people. Price was good. Staff was nice. It was beautiful and not that large. Wheelchair friendly. Unfortunately we couldnt see the giraffes because of the renovation.
  • Beautiful Zoo park! It was an unplanned visit but totally worth it! Entrance is some 20e but you can spend for sure some 3-4h walking around and enjoying a beautiful nature and animals! Very good organized, with many things to see. Be sure to bring some water/food with you as inside beverages a d food are super expensive. Recommend!
  • Really nice zoo as far as city zoos go. Animals look well taken care of, except for the poor penguins under the Barcelona sun ... There are a number of fast food places inside. Pony rides offered for an extra price and really very interesting playgrounds for children.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
