  • I visited during St George's Day when they open to the public. Such a beautiful building, and a very interesting visit. Recommended if you happen to be around for April 23rd! (Saint Jordi is the patro...  more »
  • In the Gothic quarter (the historic centre) in a very large square stands the City Hall which is placed right in front of the Palace of the Catalan Government. A building that is definitely worth a visit. Payment is not required.

  • Barcelona's City Hall is located in the Gothic quarter on St. James's square (Plaza de San Jaime). From the square the building looks small, single, although, in fact, consists of three buildings connected to each other. And the façade overlooking the square is decorated in neoclassical style, but from the street Carrer de la Ciutat, you can see the Gothic. The neoclassical façade, on the one hand, quite brief, and, on the other hand, a neat portico with ionic columns, a handsome pediment bearing the emblem of Barcelona, a pair of statues in niches (one of which is the statue of King Jaime I) on both sides of the Central the entrance gives the building elegance. And here's the round-the-clock, practically blocking the central window of the third floor, seemed not very appropriate. Walking through the Gothic quarter, go past City Hall complex-it is located in the heart. Whether to go inside, I don't know, did not enter himself; more absorbed the very atmosphere of the gvsego Gothic quarter:)

  • The city hall of Barcelona had quite the views, we didn't expect. And entry is totally free. Especially the room of 100 and the room of 30 were worth a visit. You should check it out when there anyway. No need to go there on purpose though, as it's finished fast.
  • I really like this place. It's very old and beautiful. Yes, it's crowd and full of people the whole week and the most on Sunday. Yes, it's the place of political meetings and social protests. But I like it cause it's always decorated by flags and fricks. There is a possibility to visit the municipal building.
  • The best Council buildings I've seen ! Amazing free tour on St.Georges Day every 23rd of April. From it's Gothic facade to the black, marble staircase; the Saló de Les Cròniques.Where they have the Council meetings is real inspriring. The Saló de Cent is a real impressive decorated hall dating back to 1369. If you like the way Barcelona has grown and developed thanks to decisions made here this place is for you.
  • The first word when visited Barcelona was Freedom ,the City of people I knew before ,the kindness ,the friendly manners when they guided me to find my way lost in a wonderfull City with so many to see and record in my mind..The description of places after all are in the guides and each native of the City is like native Athenians that help you guide you even come with you if you don't understand the language and that's Freedom that means you love humans without expecting not even a thank you...
  • Beautiful historical building. It's not open regular for visitors but whenever you get the opportunity try to get a guided visit here.
