Cathedral de Baeza, Baeza
(4.3/5 based on 300 reviews on the web)
Admire the varied and grand architecture of Cathedral de Baeza. Pick up an audio guide, which is included in the price of admission, for information about different parts of the cathedral. The cathedral was built on the site of a Moorish mosque, which itself had previously been a Roman temple. Discover the Gothic cloister, Mudéjar chapels, and gilded Baroque altar. Don’t miss the 2 m (6.6 ft) monstrance made from silver, gold, and bronze. It took a silversmith 14 years to complete the work. Climb up the spiral staircase of the bell tower for views of the town and surrounding mountain ranges. • It is the jewel of Baeza. It is worth to visit it and its beautiful streets and enjoy the story and the beautiful architecture of its buildings. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain.

  • We did the tour and explained many details that made us understand the history of Baeza and admire this jewel of the Andalusian Renaissance, which undoubtedly deserves at least that we devote an entire weekend.

  • That I can tell you, is my people, whenever I come back I like to walk in the surroundings of the Cathedral, it is a stunning, quiet old town, the only drawback in this and many Spanish cathedrals is that you have to pay to visit, a penalty, must see custody and climb the Tower, its views are amazing.

  • Probably not well known as a cathedral. In fact nobody told us to stop by here, and we did as a pure coincidence. The cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin and it's built in Renaissance-style. Notable safe and caveaux in the basement with lots of ancient reliques. Cathedral is quite nice, in comparison to the one of Granada, I much prefer this one. Entrance is €5, which I hope they will be immediately reinvested into conservation considering the condition there cathedral verse (e.g. windows broken that let the rain in).
  • €5 Really?
  • Fantastic! Place to visit

  • With 5EUR admission price to the midfield. But it's worth, because an audio guide is in there with the price. Audacious is that you can - not shoot even without Flash not. Insider tip: You reach up to the Gallery on it and can both outside than inside the Church along and catches so a beautiful views of the city and time an entirely different view on the Interior of the Church!
