  • I am of Badajoz and very fond of archaeology. The parts and the exposure of these is really pretty good. Architectural space is nice and spacious, but they have not changed the exposure over many years. If you are coming to visit Badajoz is a must stop. Also its location is optimal to continue the visit to the Citadel. There are nearby restaurants, bars and pubs.

  • The Archaeological Museum of Badajoz is located in the interior of the Islamic Citadel, in particular in the Palace of the Dukes of the rock, built by the family Suárez Figueroa in the 16TH century. There are various plants with rooms spanning prehistory (with a courtyard full of magnificent Estelas de Guerrero found throughout the Badajoz province), proto-history, Rome, pre-Roman, Visigothic architecture, Islam, and Medieval Christian time, after its incorporation into the Kingdom of Leon in the 13TH century, covering this room until the 16TH century.
