  • Am of Avilés and visited frequently the temple neo-Gothic of Holy Thomas of Canterbury, a church very pretty to which the people is often called "the Cathedral of Avilés". The works of this church started in 1896 and completed in 1903. It has Latin cross with 3 ships in the main shaft and a cruise. Long: 57 m; width: 22,5 m. Has two towers of 47 m of height. Has altarpieces, paintings and sculptures worthy of verse. It is worth visiting the temple, better outside the hours of worship. Mass schedule: Laborables and Saturday: 8:30, 10:30 and 19:30. Sundays and holidays: 9:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 19:00.
