The Four Posts, Avila

4.4
Erected in 1556 just outside Avila, The Four Posts is a curious-looking shrine with a cross erected in the center. It marks the spot where seven-year-old Saint Teresa tried to run away to seek martyrdom in battle with the Moors. Her uncle, Francisco, stopped her and made her return to the city. The monument is set in a private field with no parking lots nearby, so you will have to walk there. You will also be rewarded with a great view of the city and its medieval walls. From this place you will have the best views of the city walls of Ávila, both day and night. The only problem is that there are always enough people, which is understandable.

Even if it is somewhat removed from the historic deserves approach, since the views of the city of Ávila are excellent.
