  • If you're feeling a little adventurous, I recommend at least a day hike that starts with a ride up to the top of the mountain from the Fuente De cable car. I have hiked a lot in North America, but the...  more »
  • The truth is that it is an exciting environment for nature lovers. Many animals can be seen, the landscapes are spectacular and on clear nights you can see a huge number of stars. Plenty of activities to do there, since the route of Cares to Kayak descents, visit Covadonga and lakes, el Naranjo, gastronomy... highly recommended.

  • Having the chance to practice your Spanish and to own a JEEP. We went from the foot of the cableway of Fuente Dé until the next village where starts the track that leads to the Summit. It is always a pleasure to take the few tracks that lead to the summits, to stop along the rivers and fountains. Of course the bears do not show and fortunately, otherwise they would be dangerous because of their contact with humans. Herds in freedom, like cattle, sheep, horses. Eagles and vultures. The heat of the summits. Attention to the fragile backs because the bumps well shake the vehicle. Two outputs of the slopes: Asturias and Cantabria (road buddies). We have not had time to go to the Asturias, where the landscape is even more glaring with its lakes of Covadonga. The cable car is only an adventure to the Spanish, numbers to be able to go up and down, mess, crowd, tails, Cree. The bar (reasonable prices) altitude is the goal for a break. Note the hotel of altitude not far from Alphonse XIII royal "chalet" is really well positioned. We don't not entered.
