Let me add to the rave reviews about the Cares trail. It is breathtaking - the jagged limestone face, the river, which apparently is 200 meters deep in the deepest part of the gorge from the trail - t... read more »

Taking into account that many people making the route makes it in moccasins, HEELED SHOES and jeans... because if it can be somewhat dangerous, but for people who come with sports equipment, a backpack with water and some food is very light. We did route from poncebos to cain 24km (12 round 12 round with gps clock exactly the same distance that puts on all posters and forums). The area hardest it is the beginning of poncebos with 2 km rising from the outset but then comes a long descent and a long, pretty plain. And the back the same thing except that you end up going down after a climb. If you are going with a bit of preparation, good Footwear and sports equipment, a backpack with food and water is a beautiful route to spend the day. Obviously if not none of these things are going to suffer and not liked, but we assume that is walking on mountain area. To go with children depends on age may be something "heavy" by having to keep an eye on them, but for slightly older children is a beautiful family and recommended route. We went in October and had enough people, so it is advisable to go on little dates because but the massification of people might not enjoy it.show original
Ricardo Amador PérezEssential route for all the lovers of the nature, difficulty medium-low with a small slope in general although tour long. I recommend do it of Cain to Poncebos, since thus the slopes are best distributed with the tiredness.show original
Jorge Herrán TrigoOne of the routes of mountain for almost everyone most spectacular of Spain. My recommendation is to do it from the lion's share. First with bridges is fine, and then we have the greatest heights in the River Gorge. A good cliffs with breathtaking views.show original
Óliver del NozalAn amazing path. If possible, go in two cars, one to Poncebos and the other to Cain. Halfway the car keys can be exchanged. Do roundtrip also can be, but there are quite a few kilometers. There are also taxi and bus between the two peoples. It has no difficulty, although if you have vertigo, there are several areas that can be a problem. I recommend going during low or medium, because if not, the agglomeration can be overwhelming.show original
Francisco Miranda AzurmendiSpectacular mountain route for everyone and without difficulties. It is enough to know walking to cross the Picos de Europa from Cain (Leon) to Poncebos (Asturias). During the summer months there is a bus service from Cangas de Onís, which leaves you at the origin and you collect on the target, with prices of regular line.show original
Rodrigo SanchezAlso known as the divine throat. Possibly the Gorge deepest of Spain with more than 2000 m. between the river and the summits. After Covadonga and Lakes is the busiest route in the Picos de Europa. About 100,000 people make it a year for what dates tip is filled. It is between (Leon) Cain and Poncebos (Asturias). They are 12 turned round and 12 km, 24 km walking, as in car would have to do more than 100 km by mountain range between one and another point. It is a route of mountain with its risks, not to bring to grandma or go in heels.show original
