  • Small medieval town in the hinterland of Mallorca, not far from Cala Ratjada. Typically Spanish, for architecture and views actually seems to be more in Andalusia on the island Maiorcana. It is crossed by a main road with small craft shops with products of excellent workmanship; Road clambering among narrow streets leads to a vaguely Gothic style church beautiful. Still following the climb and the next steps you can get on top of the medieval walls where you can enjoy a great scenery. Recommended for a half-day outing for those staying on the coast nearby.

  • The ascent to the former fortress of Artà is rewarded. Within the well-preserved wall are the remains of the Palace and the Church of the pilgrimage. You have the tile roofs of Artas and the hills of the Serra de Lievant from here a magnificent panoramic view over... and if you're lucky, to the sea.
