Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web
El Torcal Natural Park offers impressive views of an expansive stretch of dramatic natural rock formations. Limestone from the Jurassic era remained here after the prehistoric sea dried up. The formations left behind now have names: the Sphinx, the Jug, the Camel, the Screw, and more. Keep an eye out for wild roses; orchids, of which there are 30 varieties in the park; and wildlife, such as the Andalusian mountain goat. Scenic viewpoints are accessible from all the hiking trails. As long as it’s not one of the busier weekends of the year, you can take your car all the way to the upper visitors’ center. • For a couple of days ago we drove-my son, a granddaughter and me-from Nerja to Antequera and then visited the El Torcal Natural Park. It was a nice experience. We followed a selected round trip in the area that we spent about an hour on. Along the way we had seen many fine, rare and powerful stone and rock formations. We were also lucky enough to see a beautiful ibex-in Nice pose for photography. The trip started at a tourist centre with both the restaurant and a small shop. Our little group of three people consisted of three generations. The trip was interesting and affordable for all three.

  • Unfortunately, it was foggy, but it was a great way. Sturdy footwear is necessary and there are also wild mountain goats.

  • Beautiful road up to it, here you see Andalusia from a height, you look down. The visitor center can show a movie in English, that the origin of this panekoekrotsen shows. Best for children to do, including a fantastic walk.
