  • Door giving access to the monument, with a very interesting history. If you make a visit to the fortress, the audioguide explains it in a pleasant way.

  • Their views are spectacular even there are bars for a drink quietly. But the best is the center of Antequera for its monuments and variety of places for tapas. Recommended a breakfast of Muffins from Antequera and oil from the Earth.

  • Access to the Alcazaba, the Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor, and great views Puff your way up the steps of the Cuesta Barbacana hill and at the top is this gateway. Built in the mid-sixteenth century, it gives an interesting view of the Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor, now unconsecrated as a church and used for concerts. The precinct - Plaza de los Escribanos - on the other side of the arch shows some very attractive little houses, and a good restaurant. Escribanos - scribes - as this is where the clerics lived and wrote. Once through the arch you can visit either the church or the Alcazaba, or both! Don't forget to show proof of age for the 65+ reduction in the normal entry fee of €3 for each. .
  • this is not the position of the site its at the entrance to the alcazaba
  • One of the entrances to the monumental connjunto of the Alcazaba and the collegiate church, without doubt the most spectacular. Arch dates from 1585, and has a wall of more than two meters thick, with four large tombstones dedicated to Felipe II and several Latin inscriptions. In the upper ledge we found a vase, a lion and a castle, which make up the coat of arms of the city. The cornice on the basis of a Roman sculpture of Hercules can still be seen. It has been declared of Cultural interest. This monument is free.
