Castillo de Almodovar del Rio Reviews

We learnt while there that the castle will be in Game of Thrones S7 which for my teenagers was another reason to love this castle. It was fully restored in the early 1900`s and there is an interesting... more »

Realizamos la visita teatralizada, totalmente recomendable puesto que ofrece una visión mucho más completa sobre la historia del Castillo. Está perfectamente restaurado. Merece la pena! more »We carry out the dramatized visit, highly recommended place that offers a much more complete view on the history of the Castle. It is perfectly restored. It is worth!

Frutto di un profondo restauro, con ampie ricostruzioni, il Castillo de Almodovar ha un forte fascino e un elevato impatto sui visitatori, arroccato sulla cima di un rilievo che domina il fiume e la v... more »The result of a profound restoration, with large reconstructions, Castillo de Almodóvar has a strong fascination and a high impact on visitors, perched on top of a hill overlooking the river and the Valley. The cost of the ticket is a bit too high, amounting to €8.00 per person. There are two parking lots: a small one next to the Castle and a wide beam to the ground (800 metres of healthy hike uphill). All towers are open, with the possibility to make beautiful panoramas, as well as the Dungeon, Chapel, etc. There is no real bar/exercise. It is a destination for "children of all ages", allowing a couple of hours of pleasurable escapism.
Fully renovated castle takes you back to the middle-age. Large and impressive, with decoration and guides. On top of an steep hill you can really feel the history.
Google maps will try to take you through the town, pro tip: DON'T! The main road goes right by it. Absolutely incredible. Well worth 90 minutes. Stop and have some food with an incredible view
Worth visiting, well preserved and explained. Missing a bar inside the castle to have a cold drink after the visit ;)
oh.. my .. god. I LOVED this place and it was well worth the $50 cab ride round trip from Cordoba. Breathtaking views, mediaeval storytelling complete with some video tours. Game of thrones season 7 will be shot here (Castily rock? Higharden?)
I was there in a hot day in august, the most beautiful and well preserved castle in Spain One of my favourites sites in my trip in Andalucia
