  • Claims to be a neighborhood of the medinas Arab-style, but that would be before the earthquake that destroyed it in 1522 today simply are narrow streets leading to the Citadel.

  • What is for Granada, Albayzin is Barrio La Almedina for Almería: the old Arab quarter around the fort. The atmosphere, however, is not comparable. Almedina in Almería is still in development. Parts of it are refurbished, but there are also large parts neglected. There are bars and restaurants, tourists and souvenir shops still hardly. Almedina is purer and rawer than the ALBAYZIN in Granada. But also less beautiful and might not be anywhere as secure (though nothing happened to us).

  • The neighborhood the Almedina is a district typical of Almeria. Near the historic centre of the capital. It is ideal for strolling through the colorful and typical streets. You can find bars of fishermen and poor people. It is worth to see it.
