Naksansa Temple, Yangyang-gun

One of the eight greatest scenic areas in the east of Korea, Naksansa Temple has served for centuries as a place of prayer and meditation in pristine natural surroundings. Situated on top of the mountain of the same name, it was built thanks to a Buddhist monk who, after a several days’ meditation, claimed he had seen a goddess who told him to erect a temple there. The spot where he used to meditate now houses a pavilion. Take a walk around the temple and enjoy the view of the sea and the coastline. • No.1 place of eastern seaside temples. Buddha statue on the hill and pavilion at the top of cliff are beautiful. Visitors can enjoy the landscape in which waves break on rocky cliffs.
  • Good view and they have guide tour twice in a day. And temple stay also.
  • Nice view and nice place.
  • Seaside beautiful temple! Most popular place in Yangyang!
  • One of the most beautiful places in Gwang-won province. The place is surrounded by cascading mountains to the west and turquoise colored ocean to the east. On the cliff there is a Buddhist temple. It is 3,000 won to park your car. Then you will need to hike about 10 minutes from the main gate to the top of the hill which will give you a nice view of the mountains and ocean. Once inside the temple, the views are just spectacular. There is a nice tea house with a view of the ocean behind the souvenir store. This is a MUST visit place if you are visiting Gangneung, Gwang-won province. I don't know how any could give this place less than 4 stars.
