Naksansa Temple, Yangyang-gun

(4.8/5 based on 85 reviews on the web)
One of the eight greatest scenic areas in the east of Korea, Naksansa Temple has served for centuries as a place of prayer and meditation in pristine natural surroundings. Situated on top of the mountain of the same name, it was built thanks to a Buddhist monk who, after a several days’ meditation, claimed he had seen a goddess who told him to erect a temple there. The spot where he used to meditate now houses a pavilion. Take a walk around the temple and enjoy the view of the sea and the coastline. Put Naksansa Temple and other Yangyang-gun attractions into our Yangyang-gun trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • This temple was burnt about 10 years ago! But now they recovered and boosts its beauty again! The view of sea from the temple would be amazing for everyone.
  • Donghae stopped on the eve of the afore-mentioned reports and where Mt. baekdamsa didn't have the not-so-great expectations in so great. I spent 3-4 hours so good and two sisters with cancer relative to the pine, the number of views of the sea, as there was no big hair was too nice out I allowed this Buddha was felt. Where you want to visit again soon and be sure to stop by and look at foreign friends want to give advise where

  • One of the most beautiful places in Gwang-won province. The place is surrounded by cascading mountains to the west and turquoise colored ocean to the east. On the cliff there is a Buddhist temple. It is 3,000 won to park your car. Then you will need to hike about 10 minutes from the main gate to the top of the hill which will give you a nice view of the mountains and ocean. Once inside the temple, the views are just spectacular. There is a nice tea house with a view of the ocean behind the souvenir store. This is a MUST visit place if you are visiting Gangneung, Gwang-won province. I don't know how any could give this place less than 4 stars.
  • Beautiful temple by the seaside. The bodhisattva at the top of the hill is also worth the climb to see
  • Beautiful temple. Outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and Sea of Japan. Be prepared for an uphill hike to get there, though.
  • It's good to visit. Not like any other temples in Korea, it is very easy to access. Fired years ago and fully restored. Must see the tall budha statue.
  • You can enjoy both great scenery of nature and peaceful mood of an old temple.. I bet you might be satisfied with it..!!
