Abai Village, Sokcho
(3.1/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Soak in the peaceful fishing village atmosphere of Abai Village, known for its seafood restaurants and picturesque scenes. During the Korean War, many elderly refugees of North Korea fled here, resulting in its name Abai, meaning "aged person." The village was the backdrop to the extremely popular KBS drama "Autumn in My Heart"; today, you can ride the raft that the main character would regularly use in the show to cross the harbor. The main draw--and the village's livelihood--remains the abundant seafood. Try the popular local delicacy, the Abai sundae: a squid stuffed with clear noodles, tofu, and vegetables. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Sokcho holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Abai Village and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • After the Korean war made the displaced people gathered in this northern town. This makes the old town in the hills North of the food. Now you can go comfortably, but the legs are positioned relative to the past, would not imagine. Abai Village across the road from the market side of the sponge and from apostasy.
