It is a Museum, very well organized, clean and pleasant to walk, with an impressive pagoda and the rededor with worthy of being nearby palaces and a park.

It's connected to Gyeongbokgung so it only makes sense to come here. It's a good break from the heat if you're walking around the palace and need a place to cool off. As long as you have your ticket you can re-enter the palace grounds from the museum.

This museum offers insight in the history of Korea. The exhibition is spatially divided into three rooms where in each room the focus is put on a different aspect of the history. The first room is about the chronological history of Korea, whereas the other two are about technological development, work and technics, people's life and traditions etc.

So many things to see and yet so different from China. Strongly connected to China though it was, the country has its own cultures and inventions.

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
