Tapgol Park, Seoul

(90 reviews on the web)
Nature / Park
One of the first modern urban oases in Korea, Tapgol Park makes a good getaway from the bustle of the city streets. Well-established trees, carefully manicured flower beds, and abundant sculptures create a relaxing atmosphere to sit or picnic in. Look for the onsite national treasure, the 12 m (32.8 ft), ten-tiered stone Wongaksa Pagoda. Encased in a glass box, the pagoda dates from 1467; many historians consider it one of the finest examples of Joseon dynasty pagoda art in existence. • It was a very small park. Good for resting tired feet and toilet break. The most significant artifact is the old pagoda. Very well preserved.  more »
  • Small and famous park close to Insadong, in front of the Alive Museum. Quiet and good to relax and take pictures.  more »
  • It's very near our hotel so we decided to pop there on the last day. It's quite interesting but mostly local old men linger in this area. The monuments here are really from the ancient times unlike so...  more »

  • At first I thought it was bigger. It is not far anothers tourist places. It is a nice place.
  • Nice enough place, plenty of areas to stroll or sit. Perennially filled with quite old people. It's rumored that at night, you can go here to find "Bacchus girls", or old women who will sell you a small bottle of energy drink and quite possibly perform other fleshly services. Your mileage may vary.
  • Nice view.. awesome
  • While the park is kind of small it is delightful. there are always cute, sometimes drunk, old men there. it's a great place to sit for a bit if you're needing a pause from the packed streets of insa-dong.
  • Very small park. Spent a short time there. Not a lot of things to see.
