Statue of Sejong the Great, Seoul
(3.5/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Look up and admire Statue of Sejong the Great, a large statue of the revered ruler, and a focal point of the large, ceremonial square that surrounds. In front of the 9.5 m (31.2 ft) statue of the king, who ruled from 1418-1450 CE, sit a number of inventions that came into use during his progressive and technologically-minded reign, including a celestial globe, rain gauge, and sun dial. Best known as the inventor of the Hangul alphabet, several inscribed characters mark the stone plinth on which the king, seated on a throne and smiling, sits. • It is just a statue which you are bound to see on a walking tour of Seoul. Sejong was a King and is also credited with devising the Korean Hangul alphabet.
  • In front of Gwanghwamun Gate is the statue of King Sejong, fourth ruler of the Joseon Dynasty large and whose reign lasted just over 31 years in the 15TH century. He was a consummate intellectual and strategist military that attributed the invention of writing hangul, Sundial and other water. The King Sejong is one of the only two Korean monarchs who have been honored with the name of "el grande". The statue in one of the most representative images of Seoul, and is an attraction to the outdoors, so it has no charge.

  • Atmosphere is nice. I would enjoy to meet as well, only this image, rather than behind, the landscape around the building as a good. Memorial shoot has gotta be sure.
