  • Unless you're a fan of meet visits to sites world heritage site by UNESCO, or that you're walking through this area of the city, visit the tombs of Seonjeongneung is not a fundamental attraction of Seoul. The park where has input cost and in less than an hour you can be walked to see the three tombs. Little is actually what you see, since they are enclosed and the unique free angle the visitor little you can see details of the sculptures. However, the contrast between the ancient tombs of the Joseon period and modern buildings surrounding the Park is impressive. Consider this site as a visit only if you have time to spare. It should take into account, in addition, that the Declaration of world heritage is not only for these three tombs, but for several scattered on the territory of South Korea.

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
