  • The history here is well preserved. The facilities are constantly being updated and fixed. There are four languages for everything (Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese), so you're sure to be able to understand. It's a powerful experience!
  • A very interesting place to visit to understand how the men and women of korea fought for their independence against the Japanese. Seeing the different ways that they were tortured and the conditions of their imprisonment, one can only feel a sense of sympathy yet in awe of how they survived the war. Definitely one of our top favorite visits after touring Korea twice. If there were more English translations, I'll have given it 5 stars.
  • Interesting to grasp what japonese occupation could look like. However only few content was translated. Many school trip make the place more lively
  • The Prison Museum you can see how the Korean activists were tortured and died by Japanese during the colonization of Japan. This place is good for those who are interested in history. The execution place was known for the ghost spot. Dongnimmun station line 3 exit 5. Entrance fee is 3000 won per 1 person.
  • If you are touring Seoul, I suggest you take an hour of your day to explore here. Though a bit morbid, this prison played a large role in Koreas history and has been well maintained over the years.
