  • Really a cool place to walk. You can see many people and nice architectures. The charming aspects is the mix between the contemporary and traditional architecture.
  • Samcheong-dong is one of the most unique places in Seoul next to Gyeongbokgung Palace . Samcheong-dong is famous for its Bukchon Hanok Village. We saw many cafe located in samcheong-dong.
  • Cool area with some various specialty shops like a local mall strip but much more hip. Found a good tea spot, with a gorgeous view, a fragrance specialty store and it really is what you find. I'd recommend coming on a cool day with lots of time to spare. The stores are on a hill and some steep hill walking required
  • Modern but also cultural~Awesome place!
  • Busy trendy vibe. Plenty to see and do.

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
