  • Very fortunate to visit during local historic festival and a music Festival. Although a very busy space enjoyed by locals I never felt claustrophobic, with some wonderful sites and landscaping. The lo...  more »
  • Right away from Olympic Park station of subway line 5 entrance to meat and more. Art Park, and everywhere there was art. Today was also the concert. It is difficult and very wide, so decided to walk. Parent-child event throughout, and seemed in the family having a fun holiday. Going inline skating to adults and children. I'm popular? Ponds, not everywhere on benches and restrooms. Place all day long and enjoy the sweeping is recommended.

  • This park is BEAUTIFUL! I went there on a sunny day, and there were a lot of elderlies came a long as well. Since I went on a Sunday, the park was full of families and couples who came for picnic. Als...  more »

  • Great place for exercising: a short hike, bike ride, or jog--even skating in the winter. Lots of trails, both flat and hilly. Good restaurants and cafes throughout the park to take a quick pit-stop. A bit crowded on the weekends, so it's best to go early on Saturdays or Sundays.
  • A great place to walk or run the kids. There are nice photo ops and views. A good choice of restaurants is available. You can rent a bike-cart if walking isn't your thing.
  • Huge park with lots of areas to walk, jog, and relax on sunny days. Many people go with family and friends to enjoy a picnic.
  • Extraordinary Park with great landscape design. it is very quiet with beautiful scenery. Not only the olympics symbol the park represents, but also offers the leisure open space including hiking trail and lake. You will definitely comfortable and can spend almost an afternoon there.
  • Great park. Less Olympic and more old, 4th century fort. No defenses left to speak of, but the steep hills you can climb will make you appreciate how hard this area would have been to take by an invading army.

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
