Naksan Park, Seoul
Categories: Nature & Parks
At Naksan Park, otherwise known as “camel mountain,” follow the path along the fortress wall to reward yourself with scenic views of the city after your short hike. One of the four guardian mountains of the capital of the Joseon dynasty--whose members used to come here to watch the sunset--the area was severely damaged under Japanese rule. In 2002, the mountain--which is actually a small hill resembling a camel hump--was declared a protected park in an attempt to preserve the remaining greenery. The park boasts a pavilion, an exhibition hall, and several squares, as well as badminton and basketball courts.
