Kyobo Book Store Gwanghwamun, Seoul

(4.8/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
At Kyobo Book Store Gwanghwamun, peruse some 2.3 million volumes, including English-language books, as well as stationary and knickknacks. This flagship store breathed new life into the depressed Korean publishing industry when it opened in 1981, built beneath the headquarters of its parent company Kyobo. If you're looking for anything in particular, the store employs electronic categorization, allowing you to search for titles both in English and Korean, and English-speaking staff attend the information desks. Look out for the branch's book-of-the-month event, where authors take part in Q&A sessions on site.
