Ihwa Mural Village, Seoul
Categories: Neighborhoods, Tourist Spots
Seated on the side of Mount Naksan, Ihwa Mural Village offers a quirky scene of traditional houses decorated with brightly colored painting. A success story for the 2006 Naksan art outreach project, the murals breathe new life into the village, nicknamed "moon village" due to its elevated proximity to the night sky. As you wander the steep rickety paths searching for your next mural, don't forget to look out over the skyline of Seoul. Maps are available to lead you to some of the more established murals and mosaics, although new works pop up all the time so keep your eyes peeled.
