  • One of the Royal Palace of the Joseon Dynasty in Seoul. It is said to have been founded in 1616, many buildings were mostly demolished during Japan colonial period and also Nikko gate was moved to honor Ito Hirobumi temple gate, after the liberation, also here was moved to. I went to the Seoul Museum and walk early in the morning, and next to each other.

  • It is a good place to learn a bit of the korean kings and nice poace to walk around quietly especially outside its walls where you can find nature.
  • Quiet Korean palaces.
  • A very underrated palace
  • Pretty small and nice palace. Not many other tourist were here so it felt really calm too. A portion of the palace was closed off when I came. There's a pathway that circles it and you can see the palace from above, that's kinda nice.
  • Worth a trip. Check out the guard changing ceremony.

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
