#36 of 106 in Sightseeing in Seoul
Landmark Tourist Spot
Providing a bustling center of fashion, cosmetics, and highly skilled tailors, Ewha Women’s University Fashion Street specializes in catering to the female student's tastes and trends. Surrounding the world's largest female educational institute, the district buzzes with stalls, malls, and designer fashion outlets selling clothing, shoes, and some of the largest collections of skincare products in the city. Take your time to explore the meandering alleys and streets of this predominantly female shopping district. Prices here remain affordable due to the student population, so pick up a new outfit or gifts to take home. Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
