Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.

  • Great place with several walking trails/running track. A flower garden, sports facilities and benches are located around the trails. The place has some historical significance as it built up to pay tribute to Dosan An Changho’s patriotism. It has Dosan An Changho Memorial Hall, Dosan An Changho’s tomb, his wife’s tomb and the statues. Admission is free.
  • Very nice park, lots of locals, there are some spots to play local games. Visit during autumn or spring season
  • A nice quiet park for a stroll. There are historic Korean statues in remembrance of Ahn Changho (안창호 선생님), who was a Korean independence activist. The park is named Dosan in his honor, as "Dosan" was his pen name.
  • Traveling in Seoul dun just focus on shopping, their landscape and gardening is worth to visit as well..
  • Historical park, a green hearth in gangnam
