  • Other than the architecture being of container concept, there is not much to do there. Highly overpriced and expensive international brands.  more »
  • We enjoyed exploring Common Ground just before noon. It opens at 11am. It's certainly a cool space and a cool collection for stores. Perhaps too cool if you're not into the mis of Korean/American skat...  more »
  • The Common Ground Park at Konkuk University in Seoul is a noveau approach to shopping but it turned out to be quite a let down as the range of clothes and accessories can be found in Myeongdong n Busa...  more »

  • Amazing place with beautiful Korean designs from clothes and accessories. There are nice cafes and restaurants as well. The area created as in containers which gave it unique look
  • Great place for small and large groups. It can get busy because it's very popular. There are plenty of food trucks and different bars. Plenty of options. Excellent craft beer options.
  • Very hip spot to look for urban/street wear. There are a few trendy cafes and restaurants as well. When we visited, there was a live DJ who was having the time of his life playing some electronic tunes. It was a bit underwhelming, but worth a visit if it suits your fashion tastes.
  • Common Ground is a great little shopping mall. The architecture is interesting as it is made out of shipping containers and many sellers are selling home made or Korean goods. It's a must visit if you are in the Kondae or Ttuekseom area.
  • A beatiful and unique place. However the prices are quite high but it is understandable due to the products being hand made

Where to stay in Seoul

The Seoul metropolitan area has two districts especially appealing to backpackers--Jongno just northeast of the city, and Hongdae to the west. Both offer good shopping and dining, as well as easy transport links to the rest of the city. Mid-range options may prove difficult to find in peak season (July to August), unless you don't mind staying at a traditional hanok guesthouse, where loads of character make up for any lack of amenities. Finally, a range of top-end hotels with an impressive list of services and facilities lie scattered around the city.
