Blue House, Seoul

(170+ reviews on the web)
Government Building Tourist Spot
Once home to a royal villa where princesses and crown princes used to stay during royal wedding ceremonies, Blue House today houses the official presidential residence. Originally built at the beginning of the 12th century, the site was destroyed during Japanese colonial rule. The complex includes the main office, palaces built in traditional Korean style, a pavilion, a guest house, and valleys where presidents planted trees on special occasions. The main office building--with its distinctive blue-tiled roof set against a mountain backdrop--was constructed in 1991. During the house's construction, workers found an inscription on a wall reading "the most blessed place on earth." A visit to Blue House represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Seoul vacation builder to plot your vacation.

  • If you want to take pictures and proof that you have been to Seoul and visited the Presidential Blue House, just do so. But a tour to this area ,not really worth it. Just go elsewhere.  more »

  • A high security place for the president of South Korea. They call the place blue house as the Aesthetic of the building is blue. You can't go near it but it look magnificent from afar.
  • I went and i met one of the CEO of an industry he was cute and he told me about him meeting lee jong suk it was very nice
  • This is a presidential palace which is tightly guarded by security forces. Tourists could only snap a picture from far.
  • Guided tour provided in Korean with audio devices provided to non-Korean speakers for pre-recorded guidance. Nothing much to see as the indoor of the complex is out of bound.
  • It sucks. Honestly. -------Nicolas
