Built in the most northern point in country, Dorasan Station symbolizes the yearning of South Korean people for unification with their brethren. Take a guided tour through the empty, modern station displaying exhibits of wishes and hopes of reconciliation. Displays show how the Berlin Wall fell and Germany re-united. Look for the unification clock displaying how long the process took in Germany, and the other showing the period of separation between Northa and South Korea. The station exudes a hope for a better future, but also acknowledges the bitter present, since all the stores and immigration offices are vacant and military secures the area. • Yes this is the last station on the territory of South Korea, the following should already be in the North, but the conflict does not do this. At the station there are souvenirs and Memorial with the names of the builders of the station.

  • Depending on how one views it, it may be considered a waste of resources. Largely unused now, it can be viewed as a symbol of the yearning of the South Korean people for unification of the two Koreas....  read more »
  • This station is the last station in South Korea before North Korea. The railroad would have to walk up to Pyongyang. The station was built in 2000 and is-on what tourists after-total extinct. You can the platform on for 1000 Won. Jeook then get a special ticket as a souvenir. There is a daily train between Seoul and Dorasan and back. This I have not taken. It is crazy to leave on such a train station. It was part of a tour to the DMZ from Seoul.
