(4.5/5 based on 650 reviews on the web)
At the center of Jeju Island lies Hallasan National Park, a designated nature reserve which contains hundreds of cone-shaped volcanos surrounding the main mountain. Famous for its diverse ecosystem due to changes in altitude and temperature, the park shelters 1,800 species of identified plant life and 4,000 species of animals. Go on a hiking trip of 10 km (6.2 mi) to explore the natural haven, or you can even head to the mountain top with no terrain difficulties. Bear in mind that the weather unpredictably changes, so make thorough preparations, especially before ascending to the peak.

  • This was the first time we hiked in the snow. We had to wear crampons in order to walk on the snow. The ascent was manageable and we saw kids around 10yrs old climbing as well.

  • Worth visiting. There are few routes to reach the hill each one is very different to each other. Very nice views.
  • Hiking is not my favourite workout, but is worth to hike Mt. Hallasan, awesome view as reward. I hiked via Yeongsil trail.
  • The view is amazing and the environment is nice. However, three of the four paths to the top are closed ... (only seongnapak is opened)
  • Had a great winter hike on top of the mount with a stunning view on the sea as a reward
  • Great place. Worth the long and arduous climb up Jeju's peak.
