Anapji Pond, Gyeongju
(4.1/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll along Anapji Pond, a man-made body of water that used to form part of a lavish, 7th-century palace compound. Abandoned after the fall of the Silla Empire in 935 CE, the pond and its structures were renovated in 1974, during which time an array of relics and artifacts were excavated. Admire the scenic vista of the pond and its ancient buildings, some rebuilt and some originals. In the exhibition hall nearby, you can view over 700 of the thousands of art pieces, religious objects, decorations, and everyday items that were found in the pond area. • I recommend to anyone who loves snap beautiful shots:) Place for the day is beautiful but only after sunset reveals its charm. It is worth to go there.

  • Little is left of what was originally the prince's palace, save for a few pavilions. Yet, on a still night, it becomes a surreal, almost magical to walk. You walk a short loop around the pond, and see...  more »
  • during the day in summer it is a nice location but it truly becomes beautiful at night or when the leaves are colored or I assume with snow
