Seomun Market, Daegu

4.0
See how old meets new and feel the buzz of Seomun Market, Daegu’s largest market with over 4000 shops. Although most of the shop are indoors, a selection of open-air stalls give the market a special charm. You can shop for textiles, bedding, leather, accessories, traditional Korean clothes, and decorations at the market. Taste a traditional Korean dessert--hotteok--and browse through numerous ginseng products used for beneficial purposes. The market provides storage lockers to help you manage your shopping load, and plenty of delicious street food to help you recharge. • The main building has many shops for cheap stuffs and food. Some restaurants and cafe are located at the basement. There's ATM too. Night market just outside the main building starts at ard 7pm. Lots of food there. Love it!
  • It is local market where you can feel busy and good vibe. There are lots of delicious food and shops selling all kinds of stuff. Sad thing is that recently it had gone through a big fire. So you might be able to see charred arcade. Such a pity.
  • I always take my guests to the seomun market. It has everything you are looking for at a cheap price. At night there's a special night market (in the summer) especially for food!
  • Indescribable! You must visit it if in the area. Be sure to order "ho duh" (a stuffed deep fried pastry). Mmmm....
  • This place has changed totally into hot zone after fire. Now it is mordernized and very clean with fabulos siteseeing and delicious foods.

Where to stay in Daegu

Daegu offers numerous high-quality, Western-style hotel options, clustering around the subway stations and downtown areas. With only one hostel, budget lodgings are scarce; however, even the mid-range hotels remain relatively affordable. Premium four- and five-star high-rise chains abound, offering pools and gyms, and often overlooking pleasant park greenery or the city's Kumho River. With transport links so well served, choose somewhere for its amenities and reputation, a spot of comfort to use as your city base.
