Nami Island, Chuncheon

4.3
Set in the middle of Bukhangang River only 63 km (39 mi) from Seoul, Nami Island provides a popular escape from city life for many locals, especially after the filming of a famous Korean drama. Stroll along the famous path lined with tall metasequoias and enjoy numerous sculptures representing love. Rent an electric bike to explore the supposed gravesite of a 15th-century general, or take a golf cart tour to enjoy the natural surroundings of countless chestnut, poplar, and mulberry trees. Cool off with a motorboat or waterski rental, or jump into the swimming pool. Use our Chuncheon day trip app to arrange your visit to Nami Island and other attractions in Chuncheon.

  • Yes. Autumn leave. We plan for the Seoul trip mainly to see autumn leave and Nami Island is the best place for stunning photo and view. The day on our visit no taxi! We have to take bus (normal shuttl...  more »
  • From Seoul it took 3 hours to get the ferry area. Crossing the river hanggang 5 -10 minutes ago there arrived on Nami Island. We are only 2.5 hours and felt less time to explore further. Many of the spots we missed. So it is advisable to take the packages, simply with the goal of 2 tourist sites only. Take advantage of more time at Nami Island. After returning from Nami and down ferry, then can ask for some sort of immigration stamps stamp in passport that had been visiting the Nami Island. But the queue is very long. I myself skip passport stamp of having to rush to another location again.

  • We came in early autumn so the leaves were changing colors. I guess the sight will be even more beautiful at the height of autumn. The scenery is postcard perfect but there are other amazing sights in...  more »

  • This is an exceptional place to visit. My family loved it. There are many things to do and great food to eat. Be ready to walk a lot but you can rent bicycles and the are other things you can rent if not a fan of walking. I wish I got there earlier Now the negative is that it is a lot of traffic to get there and to come back. I recommend trying to find a hotel around. The ferry is about ₩13 and food is not expensive. Will definitely be back
  • A nice small island surrounded by a small river. There are myriads of activities you can do there ranging from water sports, shopping, cafe, picture taking etc. This is also the place where the movie 'winter sonata' is filmed, so expect to see many reference of it on the island. The trees and sculptures are ideal for picture takings. There are also birds such as ostrich and goose on the island for bird lovers. You can expect to spend half a day there. The boat trip is only 6 minutes and there are no huge wave since it is not out in the open sea, so even people who suffer motion sickness is able to visit Nami island.
  • A tourist trap, but I like tourist traps. There are a lot of things to do on the island. Don't bother renting one of the bikes. For older kids, there's a cool obstacle course on the southwestern end. The restaurants here aren't bad either. What I suggest doing is getting as far away from the crowds as possible--if possible--for it's a peaceful place for a stroll.
  • Wow, it's a mini paradise get away!! Honestly beautiful and full of greenery. It feels like you are walking through a films forest. Find bunnies hopping around and ostriches for sight seeing. Many unique and artistic sculptures to enjoy. It a romantic type of setting while family friendly. They have an area that has little rides children can enjoy. I went with friends and enjoyed some of the many cafes. Try the soft ice cream! The mango flavor ice cream was great. There is a souvenir shop with post cards if you are into that. You can also find Ziplines. Go with enough time in the day to fully enjoy the entire island and all it has to offer!
  • A beautiful and peaceful island in a river north and east of Seoul. It is a cultural island, where many international events are organized. Everything on the island is ecological. Among other things, there is a remarkable museum of musical instruments and many shopping venues. There are also outdoor small libraries. I spent my holidays unforgettable!
