Yongdusan Park, Busan

3.8
#2 of 24 in Parks in Busan
Nature / Park
Climb the 129 m (423 ft) high tower to observe Busan at Yongdusan Park, a small hilltop park adjacent to a busy shopping area. Spanning 69,000 sq m (742,709 sq ft) with 70 different species of trees, the park also houses two museums: one with world folk instruments, and the other with 80 boat models ranging from traditional yellow-hemp sailboats to modern yachts. Look for the 12 m (37 ft) high statue of Yi Sun-sin, a 16th-century naval commander who repelled a Japanese invasion. Take a break from busy city life and calmly observe it from the park's viewing area (though you'll need to manage some steep stairs to get there). For travelers who use our world travel planner, Busan holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Yongdusan Park and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Where to stay in Busan

Established as a domestic tourist destination for a long while now, you'll find a good set of accommodations in Busan, a city becoming more and more equipped to cope with its burgeoning international reputation. Around Seomyeon station and slightly further to the northeast lie some of the most established options, with an abundance of hotels, hostels, and guesthouses in this highly commercial district. Head to the Haeundae beach district for a range of beachfront options, and more budget-friendly guesthouses in the side streets that lead away from the beach.

  • A bit of a bias here as I went to this place when the tower is shut down. No signs at the bottom of the hill saying it is close until you actually walk up there. And the entrance that has the escalator is quite hidden. But overall a nice clean park. Would go again and give a more fair assessment if I ever go back to Korea again
  • Nice place with a festival like atmosphere here. The busan tower stands tall amidst the scattered greenery.
  • There is driving a slow train. Very cheap. I would recommend it for families with small kids. Awesome view.
  • Beautiful park in Korea. There are great views of the city here.
  • This is a very green and relaxing park. The 118-meter-high Busan Tower is located here. You can meet a lots of cat in the park. You can see the city of Busan from the top hill here.
