Taejongdae, Busan

4.3
#6 of 147 in Things to do in Busan
A pristine enclave of natural beauty, Taejongdae sits on the southernmost point of the island, a sheer cliff face looking out to the meeting point of the East China Sea and the Sea of Japan. Walking trails lead through thick pine forests and offer access to scenic lookouts and a contemporary lighthouse on the rugged coastline. Uncover the area on foot, then take to the open ocean on a short cruise from the park's ferry terminal. • Taejongdae is a beautiful place to be at with nice scenery everywhere. However, it can get a little tiring with all the walking of stairs and the wind can be quite strong that I could not really take ...  more »
  • Would recommend to take the Danubi train up since it is not too expensive, but more importantly because the route up is long and steep. Nice to take long quite walks around the area. If you are short ...  more »

  • We didn't take the train due to long wait - we were going to take the train but it was too cold to wait outside. If you choose to walk, you get to stop by different spots to enjoy the view. It's worth a visit!
  • This is the most place I love in Busan 태 종대유원지. Unfortunately there were some area are closed for visiting due to reconstruction.
  • Incredibly beautiful leisure park that the whole family can enjoy. I'd recommend taking a danubi train (3,000 won each) if you bring the elderly or small kids. For tourists staying in Seomyeon area; from Seomyeon Station Exit 1, walk to the bus stop and take the bus #88 to the end of the line.
  • Really beautiful especially during sunset. If you're up for a walk ditch the train and put on your best walking shoes.
  • A really breathtaking place. Sadly, I went around late evening with my family in the winter season(gets extremely cold when the sun sets). I recommend going when there's still light, either early morning or afternoon to make the most of the scenery. There's a tram service for 2000won that will make 3 stops around the park. Since the park is quite huge, there will be a lot of stamina required for long walks between stops.

Where to stay in Busan

Established as a domestic tourist destination for a long while now, you'll find a good set of accommodations in Busan, a city becoming more and more equipped to cope with its burgeoning international reputation. Around Seomyeon station and slightly further to the northeast lie some of the most established options, with an abundance of hotels, hostels, and guesthouses in this highly commercial district. Head to the Haeundae beach district for a range of beachfront options, and more budget-friendly guesthouses in the side streets that lead away from the beach.
