Very hard to find it almost impossible to reach after an adventurous hike through the Woods. But the complex it is very nice with lots of rock carvings and chapels in small caves. Great view of Busan in the distance. To visit although walking is really difficult for the steep climb.

The visit of this temple was one of my best days of my trip to Korea because this temple in the middle of the mountain is just beautiful with its statues of Buddhas dug in the rock and its so peaceful. I had read that this temple was quite visited so I was apprehensive but to my surprise arrival: person! I have taken advantage of the place for almost an hour and I've not seen a cat. But be careful... visit ca wins because it's enough sports to get there. Before I left I read all kinds of routes explaining him find was very complicated but not at all... Explanation: to reach this temple just take the cable car park Gemgang (buy only the one-way, you won't need the back). Arrived at the top, follow the path that leads to the South (south gate). After a nice walk of 20 minutes you will arrive in the middle of a small hamlet with a few little restaurants and bars (I ate there and it was very good). Then back down along the path that passes in front of volleyball playgrounds (actually it is a kind of football quite widespread volleyball in Asia). Here less than signs but the rule is simple: down... only down until they meet an asphalt road. Then pull up the road that winds up the mountain... and ca get! You arrive at the entrance of the temple. Then go down the same road and you will arrive in the city and you can take the metro line 3 (Mandeok). Allow half a big day for the ride and especially water enough.

Probably the best half of the entire trip in Korea! The beauty of the place is directly proportional to the difficulty to reach it (known as the "Temple"). It is a Buddhist temple carved into the rock at the top of a mountain in Busan. It can be reached after about 2:00 to walk through the Woods. On the internet you will find several blogs that attempt to unravel the road to raggiungerlo.....ma you end up inexorably to get lost and ask questions along the way. You may reach even with a macchina.....ma ride you would lose between part of the magic in the walk. NOT TO BE MISSED

We are luckily to meet Mr Cho Hee Cheal without him we couldn't make our trip to Seokbulsa Temple. We took cable car from Geumgang Park to Geumjeongsan Fortress. We are lost in the fortress & luckily with helping by Mr Cho then we made it. Thanks again to very kind person Mr Cho Hee Cheal.

Nice little buddhist temple. It is about an hour's walk uphill from Mandeok subway station, well indicated from exit 2 (follow the road, keep left). First part of the walk is a bit ugly, but this improves. There is also a nicer hike, downhill from the cable car, but that hike requires some preparation. The temple has nice large buddhistic scenery carved in the rocks. Nice half day trip.

Busan Subway line 3, but duck 1 hour walk from station, exit 2. The most common place is built of wood, the transformation of the ancient temples of Hung was built of stone.

Where to stay in Busan

Established as a domestic tourist destination for a long while now, you'll find a good set of accommodations in Busan, a city becoming more and more equipped to cope with its burgeoning international reputation. Around Seomyeon station and slightly further to the northeast lie some of the most established options, with an abundance of hotels, hostels, and guesthouses in this highly commercial district. Head to the Haeundae beach district for a range of beachfront options, and more budget-friendly guesthouses in the side streets that lead away from the beach.
