Dongbaekseom Island, Busan

4.6
#6 of 24 in Parks in Busan
Nature / Park
On the far tip of a beach lies Dongbaekseom Island, a scenic spot with cultural and natural highlights. Once separated by the sea, the area still gets referred to as an island, even though years of sedimentation have connected it to the mainland. Walk the wooden path along its perimeter, where you'll see key attractions including a monument to a famous local scholar, a mermaid statue based on a local legend, and plentiful viewing areas from which to admire the coastline. Take time to appreciate the rich plant life, with many natural floral displays all around. Where to stay in Busan

Established as a domestic tourist destination for a long while now, you'll find a good set of accommodations in Busan, a city becoming more and more equipped to cope with its burgeoning international reputation. Around Seomyeon station and slightly further to the northeast lie some of the most established options, with an abundance of hotels, hostels, and guesthouses in this highly commercial district. Head to the Haeundae beach district for a range of beachfront options, and more budget-friendly guesthouses in the side streets that lead away from the beach.
