  • We did the Hell's Gate hike up the back side of Table Mountain (from the Constantia parking area). It was a gorgeous hike, winding up and around the back of the mountains. The guide (found through the...  more »
  • Table Mountain is one of the highlights of our Cape Town travel. The car we have parked below and are raised with the free bus. From there, there are various hiking possibilities.

  • Given that we love walk we decided after several documentations to walk PLATTEKLIP GORGE path signposted but agrees that you buy a map at visotor center just as soon as you arrive under the cable. Isn't it dangerous to GO on walking there are MANY PEOPLE who DO IT THEN YOU are NOT ALONE, I recommend a sunscreen and hat plenty of water at least 2 l per person! The path is steep at first but then it goes up quite a bit and it begins to climb big rocks ... we say that x who is not trained isn't the greatest go on on foot x 2:00 full! Once at the top of the show is wonderful!!! Great views in 360°! Cape of good hope, Cape town, the sea ... beautiful!!! There is a simple path to go over the table and admire the two sides and taking photos, going up with the cable you can do this. Down we decided to take the cable as it would be too steep and strenuous path to throw your knees! Takes very little to get off is very fast!!! A wonderful experience that I recommend to everyone! I recommend if you decide you go up with the cable book ticket that morning on the internet and go early because the line to do it a lot! While going down you can buy also currently out of row x enter the cable ...

  • Great. A table indeed. How amazing the work of God is. So flat. There is a cafe and a shop on the mountain. The cable car takes three minutes to go up but for those that are daring you can climb up and down. Great place to bring family and friends
  • Amazing views. Fresh air. Mountains and sea side. What more do you need? More things to see personally. It was really pretty much perfect.
  • Iconic, darling. Just ICONIC!! There are sooo many ways to skin this cat. What I mean is... if you have time on your side and just a little fitness then you can take one of he MANY hiking trails to the summit. If you’re not able to hike then by all means take the cable car. The most popular and easiest way to the top is Platteklip Gorge. But if you dare take one of the less congested trails, you will not be disappointed. The flora and fauna on these less popular routes is astonishing and you’ll even encounter a mountain goat or 5 along the way up. Just be safe and have someone who’s a pro help navigate the terrain. For safety reasons, the cable car does not go up on windy days; which also means that other staff who work up there cannot make it up. Found ourselves in one such predicament on a cold and windy winter’s day and was lucky enough to find that they keep blankets in the cabinets in the bathrooms for such occurrences.
  • Worth doing but hold in to your children. The place is safe but there are plenty of little walls they can climb up and fall. I really recommend to hold them all the time if they're anything like our wild bunch. We loved the views. Do bring your own binoculars birds and mamals to be observed. Not crowded off season but I heard it's full in high season. The price is quite high checks on line for details. The world is home ;)
  • The most stunning of views from a wonderful rocky landscape. U can stay on established tracks or wander off and enjoy the serenity or vask views looking over Cape Town and surrounds. Views to the North, South East and West. A wonderful wifi cafe perched on a cliff edge watching the sun set is a perfect way to end a trip to Table mountain. A most highly recommended place to visit!!
