  • Diesemal I have my rating from Feb. 2017 correct. With the traveller BB´s book by Capreo we have enjoy a special private wine tasting at SPIER. Almost all the top range wines were us declarations of this excellent, professional and a nice chat offered. After trying the block series Flagships Frans K Smith in white and Red was offered us even the two - what grenades. Since we were travelling for a few more days in SA, we have also slammed in the shop. Overall, though larger groups were in the and to be found outside of the tasting rooms - is it the louder the more alcohol, then stop. Overall, we were this time but absolutely thrilled.

  • I was there 2 x. The first time for win wine & chocolate tasting, really very successful with great controls (Susan). She could us thanks to their 17 years of work experience at this point very much about the wine and the history of the Spier farm tell. A week later I visited the Eagle encounter. First I was horrified about the small enclosure, but then watched the air show me and took the opportunity to learn more about the accommodation and outlet of the animals. All my questions were answered very competently. I can now understand that the hunting birds because of their low activity need not larger cages and every day their flights out may make them.

  • We were in a digression in this typical wine farm at about 40 km from Cape Town, Beautiful location, visibility of the vineyards as far as the eye and obviously good wine and cheese tastings ... Beware of closing hours ... are very rigid and adamant ... it's best to book at least 2 hours after arriving with at least one margin close timing.

  • Such a fantastic farm. I would give the hotel side a 6 out of 5 ... The rooms and service are that good. The restaurant could improve in terms of menu and setting.. quite a bare and clinical decor which is not cozy or welcoming. The breakfast buffet would improve a great deal.
  • What an amazing experience I had at Spier Wine Farm. My boyfriend took me there last year for our anniversary. The staff there was amazing they were always willing and ready to help, from what I encountered they went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. The Eight restaurant was a whole experience for me and my partner, their food was delicious. We had ordered dessert but we were so full from our main that we asked that they made dessert a takeaway, the waiter communicated our request to the chef who in ture came to us with the request of having the dessert delivered to us in our room at a time that would best suit us because having it in a take away would mess up the presentation, you can only but imagine how impresses we were about the service at the Eight restaurant.
  • This is a great place for couples and family alike! The picnics are very delicious and served with wine - and a basket you can keep. Plenty of room to sprawl out and have a picnic or let the kids run. A nice restaurant for a sit down meal and lovely activities for the whole family. A must if visiting the winelands.
  • lots of building and construction. the shop had very little to chose from. staff was great tjough. coffee and hot choc was very average. food poor. sad to see such a lovely place go backwards
  • A great experience that we had when we 11 of them stayed for a night. We had taken 4 rooms. Rooms are a bit far away from reception but that shows how big the property is. They have well maintained it and it has fab surroundings. Rooms were spacious as compared to other places that we stayed. The staff was very helpful, since we had some issues in ordering Vegetarian food. Overall a good experience for the stay we had there. Only recommend to have proper Vegetarian food too.
