  • Interesting conundrum this one we visited in Jan this year and as we were taking tourist photos, as you do on holidays with cameras, we were told by a heavily armed guard that no cameras allowed...  more »
  • Great meeting place, dominated by the giant statue of the great man and surrounded by big, glitzy restaurants, mainly grill houses serving gigantic portions of meat and fish.  more »
  • My first tour of South Africa so I decided to have dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. It so happens that the HRC sits in the corner of the famous Nelson Mandela Square. This is a nice open air social area....  more »

  • Must see tourist attraction. 6m bronze statue of Nelson Mandela is a centrepiece for taking photos. Good dining places and restaurants serving local and continental dishes all around, overlooking the square. Huge mall where one can easily get lost if one is not familiar with the layout. Hours and hours of shopping due to the availability of many items. Convenient for large families or those with children.
  • Very clean relaxed beautiful busy place. I would go there anyday. I love the fact that they don't allow people to smoke everywhere. Quite helpful for some of us with allergies. The security is top notch the security guards are on top of their game. They make it look really cool to be a security detail🙂
  • Probably as open air circled by some of the best variety cuisine restaurants in the modern world truly a digestive haven So many levels of shops in the huge square mall and the relax of the piano bar. At hotel Michelangelo is worth the visit a rest a favourite tipple or even afternoon tea is even more popular. Staff are in excess friendly local obliging happy and sensitive to all needs It is a must
  • Lovely place to dine and shop. Has a plethora of restaurants and high end apparel shops. Enough parking space. But, it can get extremely busy during the holiday season.
  • Nelson Mandela Square is a great upmarket venue for shopping and eating out. It also holds the biggest and tallest statue of Nelson Mandela and is a big tourist attraction for everyone. There is a water fountain which brings out the great experience in the evenings. Sandton Library is also around the corner. Auto Theatre on the General is also in the same vicinity. Hard Rock Cafe, Raj Restaurant and many other restaurants sees the celebrities of town walking freely. Thanks
