Wild 5 Adventures Reviews
I am terrified of heights, but the friendly and very professional staff got me harassed in, reassured and ready to jump in no time. They did not try to talk me into or out of anything, but gave me fac... more »
The Wild5 website clearly shows opening times so we drove especially to do the swing only to find they'd closed early. Called them to find out why they closed early only to be met by a rude women who ... more »
... more »The jump in the Gorge is an absolute thrill. The support by the crew was well. One free falls approx. 3 sec and then swings at the steel cable. Not quite as onerous as in bungee jumping. Then it is lifted by the waterfall.
An incredibly special place for hikers. Stunning views and a challenging but rewarding hike down to the bottom of the waterfall. Makes it interesting hearing the adrenaline junkies jump from the ledge just above your head with the cable screaming through the air louder than they are. Not being too keen to jump off a cliff myself, I can see these guys have a professional safety crew and very happy customers
Best time of my life! Highly recommend the Big Swing, despite how terrifying the initial jump is! You'll thank yourself big time :)
Awesome gorge jump with amazing views, swing bridge, cable slide, and many more activities. Really enjoyed my time there.
Awesome place to just picnic with the family or go on a wild adventure. I've tried the Gorge swing a few years back and it remains one of the best experiences for me. Word of advice, don't eat before doing it. It's not like bungee jumping because you're not left dancing by your feet. You jump and end up in a sitting position with the safety harness around you. It's completely safe for most ages but use wisdom and safety as a parent with young kids. There'll be plenty of time to do this when your kids are older. The suspension bridge is cool and accessible for all ages. This place is not recommended for people with a fear of heights as most areas around here are very high up. It has breathtaking views and stunning photo opportunities. The suspension bridge is NOT ONE WAY, you can go back even if there are others on the bridge just stick to the limit of people on the bridge and cross each other safely. There's plenty of view spots to picnic and we came across people aged around 80 years to little ones aged around 2 years old. There are other activities to do, I haven't tried them all. There's paintball, the water slide, water rafting and abseiling. There is an entrance fee of R20pp that's if you just want to picnic or look around and prices for activities range from about R150 to R650. I would suggest budgeting and enquiring ahead about the activities you plan on doing as some are also weather dependent. You're given a map on entry but it can be a bit confusing. There's also marked points everywhere. We've been there a few times and taken food in from different outlets. If you do So, pack bags to use as bins and do not litter. We used the coffee shop there a few years back and has hot coffee and scones, I'm not sure if that's still available.
Spectacular views around the gorge, was great to just take a walk and relax. If you want to get your adrenalin pumping you have to do the big swing. What an awesome experience! Be fearless, do the jump!! Friendly staff all round and a fantastic hotel and restaurant just down the road. Will definitely be back for more.
