  • It rained & our cottage completely flooded. Rats were also breeding the couch! We were utterly disgusted!  more »
  • Abundant wild life at an hour's drive from Durban. Good for self drive and exploring. Entry on Card payment only. The Map provided at the entrance is not good enough. You are better off in a 4X4.  more »
  • Absolutely stunning place! The view from this lodge, is breathtaking waking up in the morning you catch a sight on the wildlife having their more drink from the lake. Antelopes, Giraffes, Rhinos and other wild life can also be found here. You stay over for a visit or come as date visitor for a Game Drive. This is a must visit place, add it on your bucket list and tick it off!
  • A dream get away!! Can't wait to go back!!! Cabins are spacious, it's quite, just you... Loved ones and nature. If you enjoy sitting around a fire, just relaxing and reconnecting with your soul.. It's amazing therapy on a whole! Added bonus.. Doing your own drive around Tala to see the animals, it's an adventure in its own right and so exciting to see which animal you will spot next! Definitely a must try, and now one of my Favourite holiday destinations!! :D
  • Nice game reserve. Day visit is R80 per vehicle and R70 per adult. They give you a map at the entrance however the signage in the game reserve is poor. It was difficult to determine where we were and how to navigate through the game reserve. You see plenty of buck, zebra, giraffe. Good picnic spot and swimming pool for the kids.
  • Went to Tala for a 1 night stay in Dec 2018 with my wife and 2 kids. We stayed at the main lodge area in Room 2. The good things about Tala are that the reserve is small so you are certain to see animals around every corner. This is great for small kids as they never get bored. You can also get relatively close to the animals including Rhinos and Giraffes. Tala is great for a quick break from the city. The slight negatives are that there is not much to do other than Game drives, it would be nice to have a pool and better jungle gyms or a games room at the Main lodge. The restaurant has good service but average food. We would recommend Tala for 1 night only.
  • Good fun for us birdwatchers, we love going for a couple of hours to feel like you are out the city. So close you can pop out for a morning and still feel like you have a whole Saturday at home. Most roads are fine for a small car, some... are not haha:) Found that out the hard/fun way.
