Marvel at the force of water cascading down Howick Falls, a single-drop waterfall on the Umgeni River. Gushing from a 95 m (310 ft) tall cliff through a large crack in the rock, this water plummets down into a large foaming pool at the base. Hear the sound of the thundering falls and observe the turbulent green vortex of water in the pond, or climb to the cliff-top observation deck, which takes an hour to reach by foot. A popular tourist attraction, the site makes a good picnic spot, with a number of eateries and Zulu traditional arts and crafts shops nearby. Ask about the tale of "inknyamba," a legendary serpent-horse creature living in the waterfall lake. Put Howick Falls and other Howick attractions into our Howick day trip planning website, and watch your holiday take shape.

Howick Falls reviews
Good place to visit while in Howick. Nice to walk to to stretch your legs and see the falls, the beauty of the place and do some light shopping from the stalls in the area. more »
What a stunning place. I would have thought the the tourism board would have kept this place looking appetising to visit. Hopefully the municipality of Howick will realise what a lovely tourist... more »
The viewing platform for Howick Falls was clean and offered a beautiful view of the Falls itself. It was highly disappointing trying to get access to the viewing platform in terms of parking a bit... more »
Beautiful spot to visit if you are in the area. The local arts and crafts markets and vendors are top quality. Just make sure to be aware of surroundings here as security can be a concern especially late hours of day.
Nice place to just chill off. But people litter alot. The falls is definitely amazing though😊
The view of the falls is lovely. The surrounding park, however, is less so. Needs a clean-up of litter and some maintenance
Beautiful natural beauty, however the town needs to keep the parking clean and attractive.
This place is so magical! Truly alive body of water! Must see!
