  • Beautiful large aquarium which offers everything an aquarium should offer. We took the opportunity to go here one day with a little worse weather and regretted us absolutely not.

  • On a rainy day, we decided to visit the two oceans Aquarium. Of course, many other people had this idea, so it was pretty full. But it was also interesting to watch how adults and children of all skin colors, the fish, turtles, corals, and penguins were looking at.

  • If you plan to go there with children, make sure they are well fed and rested first because it will take them 2-3 hours to complete the tour. Our entrance fee was waived as we had purchased a 3 day package on the Hop On Hop Off tour bus. The welcome was quite nice and you just need to follow the arrows to get around. Then, have a leisurely stroll and wonder the huge variety of sea creatures and the tastefully decorated hallways. Clearly, the most impressive scenery is the shark tank where the huge aquarium houses several large sharks and other rays... Also, the amount of information that is displayed is quite enlightening, and especially for children. A must!
  • Lovely place to take kids for an outing or to visit with friends. They have recently updated some of the exhibitions, and even have musical performances by the tanks now. The fish are well cared for, and many volunteers are around to help if necessary. There are also some touch areas for children to see seaweed and sea anemones, penguin feedings and seal feedings. I remember loving my trips to the aquarium as a kid. There are also many restaurants in walking distance, as well as permanent food and craft markets.
  • Wow, what a great experience, so much to see and so little time. It was great entertainment for the kids, and felt quite safe. The variety is great and there are so many interactive activities and demonstrations. They even take very good pictures of your family and you can buy it, which is quite pricey, but it is well worth it as you get quite a few pictures that are very professionally taken with a cute background and it comes in different sizes, in a cute booklet with stickers for the kids. The muffins and coffee there is absolutely a must try, and we managed to catch a feeding demonstration which is scheduled and advertised, see the boards at the aquarium. And it was also very nice and entertaining. A day well spent. Make sure you have enough time and that you take a Camara with.
  • Still one of my favourite places in Cape Town. As a recent member of the Aquarium we got to go behind the scenes and get a better understanding of how the place works. The one hour tour was very informative and the guides passion for the turtles, (see Bob below), was clear. This is a great place to spend the day that’s doing a lot for education and conservation.
  • The best visit with my toddler! There are so many fantastic displays (a good number of interactive displays too) and they're beautifully kept. Make note of the feeding times in the predator tank and the penguins and get there with some time to spare. Seating and standing space gets crowded quite quickly regardless of the season it seems.
