Absolutely awesome day with Bruce as a guide. Highly recommend this tour. Starts with being picked up and later dropped off safely at the hotel, so no commuting hassles. 4 Wine farms visited and Bruce entertained us all the way. The lunch was great and the drive back to Cape Town is not one I will forget in a hurry. Started the day with a bus full of strangers but ended the day with bus load of friends. Well done Bruce, highly recommended with value for money this tour!!!
Excellent tour!! Nick was so nice and shared his knowledge of wine and jokes! A perfect day!!
This is a fantastic wine tour! The company picked us up from our hotel in City Centre within the 30 minute time frame they provided us. We picked up a couple more guests and were on our way (9 people total). Our driver Willem was fantastic and made the trip even better than it already was. He provided so much cool information/history about the area/wine and was hilarious. On our drive to the first winery, we stopped at a gas station for the ATM, snacks, and water which was perfect. We stopped at 4 great wineries that each had different and cool features to them. There was a good variation in wine (as in MCC, white, red, Pinotage!) so everyone was happy. It did rain that day, but it really did not change anything in the tour and everyone was so happy that the Cape region was finally getting rain. Everything was covered for the wine tastings and lunch, which we did midway through the tour. The lunch was covered as well, so all you have to do is pay a tip. The additional pairings were really nice as well (brandy and chocolate, cheeses with wine). We would definitely do this tour again if we make it back to Cape Town. Look no further and book this place!
This is a really great tour. Our guide James was excellent, entertaining and informative. A really good value for money tour. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a fun day of wine and laughter.
While this review is over half a year late, I feel it is never to late to recommend Bruce's tours in hopes that others can enjoy the unique experience he offers his clients. My wife and I have been to Cape Town and Stellenbosch a few times. We have even been to some of the same wineries Bruce visits. The difference this time around was that we had Bruce as our sommelier and guide to the vast variety the region offers. Bruce clearly has a passion for wine - and probably chocolate and food if the day we spent with him was any indicator. His tasting expertise puts him in a league well above us, but he never made us feel that way or like we could not experience the same level of enjoyment. He was inquisitive and educational when needed and could always help us explore a level deeper - be it about the wine, the winery, the land, or the people we met. Bruce described himself as an entertainer and he certainly is. He had a kind, easygoing personality that made interactions natural and really fun. We did not want the day to end and cannot wait to get back to Cape Town and book another day with Bruce and African Story Tours.
