Flea Market
A bustling labyrinth of interesting flavors and sights, Honiara Central Market offers tourists a rare and authentic glimpse into Melanesian culture. Here you can browse through a wide range of local produce including exotic fruit, rows of gigantic, freshly caught tuna fish, and intricate arrays of the Solomon Islands' famed shell jewelry. Mostly sourced from the surrounding villages, these goods sell at very reasonable prices, and it is not customary to haggle. Bring plenty of small notes, keep one eye out for pickpockets, and bear in mind that no toilet facilities exist on site. • If you like to shop for fresh produce, go there. You will see the part of local living but there is not much for tourists to buy and unfortunately as many places in Honiara, full of rubbish. I was mindful of pickpockets but I was shocked when a man tapped on my hand that was holding a slushee begging for it. The local seller noticed this and shooed him away for me.
  • Best place to buy fresh vegetables & fruits. You can also buy necklaces & other goods there. Visitors to Honiara should not miss that place.
  • Filthy. But you can find some fresh veggies for cooking. Wash them well.
  • This is the first time that ship has turned up to Honiara the people were interesting the place was messy with rubbish everywhere. Shopping was good the markets very colourful
  • Sorry but this market was really smelly and dirty
