Radovljica Old Town, Radovljica

(4.7/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
On the top of a natural pier stands Radovljica Old Town, one of the country's best-conserved medieval structures. The town plan was laid in the 13th century, but the most prolific period of building was the 16th century. Walk among the Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque mansions and arcaded courtyards. Meander the streets and admire the frescoes adorning many facades and small windows and portals built from green stone. See the only preserved moat in Slovenia, which has been partially narrowed and built over. Attractions within this area include a gingerbread museum, a beekeeper museum, a municipal museum, and dozens of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Put Radovljica Old Town into our Radovljica vacation trip planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • The country is very small but beautiful and well preserved. In case you're in the area is perfect for a day trip. The atmosphere is relaxing and the people we met. I think it is still little exploited for tourism, despite being Sunday, we were the only (aided by the Arctic Frost). If you are interested in honey Museum, you should find out about open days that are just.

  • Small town pleasant to stroll slowly houses are renovated and are bringing it all to the period of greatest splendor. Good choice of restaurants and small museums but not binding. For a race just a couple of hours but it's very pleasant to stay there and enjoy the tranquility without haste.
